Snowdrops are the first flowers to bloom in spring, here in Toronto. They start coming up long before the snow has completely melted, and they bloom even when the weather is still dropping well below freezing at night. They are incredibly hardy little flowers.
Snowdrops are always the first sign that spring really is coming, and to see a little clump of Snowdrops after months of snow and frozen mud is to have a moment of pure joy.
I smiled for the rest of the day.
