Egret, Flying

After a long hiatus, I finally got back to the Humber River to visit my old friends the Egrets.

It’s early summer, so they’re a bit skittish still. By August, they’ll be accustomed to humans again, and they won’t be in such a hurry to fly off.

However, despite their skittishness they were willing to show off for the camera a little (provided I maintained a respectful distance). I caught this handsome fellow flying under the King’s Mill bridge as I crossed over it.
