Holy Name

Holy Name is a Catholic church on the Danforth, near Pape Avenue. If you don’t live in Toronto, that probably means nothing to you. If you do live in Toronto, it tells you that Holy Name is located in the heart of a lively, energetic, vibrant neighbourhood, known locally as Greektown (because of the Greek community which has lived here for many years), and that when I took this photo I was enveloped in the drool-worthy scent of Greek food emanating from all the wonderful restaurants that pack the area.

This photo was taken from behind the church. There was something about the contrast between the rows of shiny cars and the solid stone wall with the little rose window that appealed to me, especially with the steeple set off against the sky like that.

And yes, I picked up gyros for lunch right after.
