Muskoka Sunrise

As often as possible, I hop on the bus and escape to my parents’ cottage in Muskoka, especially in summer, when the city becomes unbearably noisy and hot.

When I’m there, as often as I can, I wake up before dawn and take the canoe out. The lake at dawn is a marvellous and magical thing – a kingdom of light and silence.

I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
