Light of Many Colours

These windows are in the south aisle of the Church of St Mary Magdalene, in Toronto. In the afternoon, the sunlight comes pouring in and dapples the floor with soft colours.

The church interior is a very pale – just slightly off-white – and the pastel colours from the windows give it a lovely warmth. The stained glass at St Mary Magdalene’s is all abstract – there are no scenes from the Bible, or from Saints’ Lives. All the colours are light and bright, so that the church is never dark. The effect is very calming.
