New Year

Happy (belated) New Year! (I meant to post before now, but I was having trouble uploading my photos. The problem has mysteriously solved itself, so here I am again.)

We’ve been hit with an arctic air mass coming down from Greenland, meaning that daytime temperatures in Toronto have been of a frigidity more suitable to the shores of Hudson Bay than to Lake Ontario. I like winter, but this is a bit much!

This image was taken (on a slightly warmer day) from the platform of the Scarborough Town Centre station on the Scarborough Rapid Transit line, a few minutes after the first snow of the year had begun to fall. The curving track disappearing into the falling snow seemed full of possibilities.

May you have many wonderful adventures in the coming year.
