Fall Colours

Tonight the season ticks over from summer to fall.

We haven’t really had much of a summer, this year. Usually, July and August are blazing hot and humid, but this year we’ve had cooler temperatures and a metric ton of rain. It’s like we went straight from spring to fall.

In Muskoka, late August to early September is when the leaves start to change colour – much earlier than they do in southern Ontario – and the sky turns the most unearthly shade of blue. The scarlet and gold leaves that fall into the lake land in another sky, almost as blue as the one above.
