Winter: Blue

Winter is full of blues, warm and cold.

The sky on a clear day, and the shadows on snow when the sun is bright. The clouds on a dark day. Water, shading from green to purple. Ice. Iron seen through falling snow.

Of all the colours of winter, blue is the most fugitive and the hardest to see. It sneaks up on you, so that it’s only afterwards that you remember seeing it.
